As registration for the doubles and mixed doubles pairs is not yet complete, it is not yet definitively clear how many doubles and mixed doubles matches will take place in Hanover. If all the players still to be confirmed were to play doubles and the three women still to be confirmed for the mixed doubles were to take part in the mixed doubles competition, a total of exactly 4,141 matches would be played over the five days of competition in Hanover. The final figure, however, will certainly be lower and closer to 4,000.
In the singles, the figure can already be stated with a fair degree of certainty. On Saturday and Sunday, during the preliminary round matches, there will be just under 1,950 matches across the 90 tables, followed by a further 765 matches in the main and consolation rounds. For the six doubles competitions, 948 matches are currently factored in, and in the three mixed doubles categories there will be almost exactly 479 matches.
The number of matches per day will be highest on the first two days, when the preliminary round groups in the singles and doubles are played. After that, the number will decrease day by day, with 497 matches still scheduled for Tuesday and exactly 114 for Wednesday.
