The list ‘Base Classes, Tournament Classes and Singles Seeding’ – broken down by women and men – is published on the tournament website at pppwc.net under ‘Participants’ and is updated there every two days. This list shows each player their base class, the tournament class they are currently scheduled to play in for the singles, and how many points they have in the seeding list (the more, the better).
All players with a base class of 2 or 3 should now check whether they wish to play in this base class in the singles or compete in a higher class. In this case, they must notify the competition manager, Hilmar Heinrichmeyer, at hmeyer@ttvn.de by Wednesday 16 September 2026, stating which higher class they wish to play in for the singles. You will then be moved up to the higher class for the singles without your base class or seeding points changing. Anyone wishing to play in their base class in the singles does not need to get in touch. No further changes to the class allocation will be made after 16 September.
There are certainly some players who, from their own personal perspective, believe they belong in a lower base class than that allocated to them. However, the tournament organisers must take into account the interests of all players to ensure the tournament runs fairly. For this reason, the classification has been carried out according to objective criteria as far as possible.
Requests to move down to a lower division cannot therefore be accommodated under any circumstances, as this would jeopardise the sporting integrity of the competition. And this is of the utmost importance for the PingPingParkinson World Championships!
